Learn More About The EAP
What is an Employee Assistance Program?
An Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is a work-based mental health and wellbeing support program for employees in managing situations and difficulties that can negatively affect their work or their ability to carry out their duties. Members of the EAP have up to six sessions of counselling designed to identify and assist them in resolving personal and work-related problems. Confidential counselling is available at the company premises at agreed times and at the EAP office by appointment. We also offer online counselling. Members contact the EAP directly on a dedicated phone line where they can arrange to speak with a counsellor to get information and immediate support in times of crisis. All employees and their family / household are members of the EAP and can access it without any cost. The EAP also supports the company as a whole and provides training for managers seminars for staff groups and support at times of crisis.
What are the benefits of the EAP?
By investing in the mental health and wellbeing support for the workforce, the benefits of the EAP are for everyone. The EAP allows the organisation to recognise and support an employee who is late for work because of issues at home. Not only can the employees receive counselling, but they will also feel more supported knowing their family are also able to access counselling and support provided by the EAP. The result of investment in an EAP can be seen in a ROI with an increase in productivity, an increase in the retention of staff, a reduction in absenteeism and presenteeism, and an increase in moral and the general wellbeing of the workforce.
Who are members of the EAP?
The EAP is for all employees of the company at all levels and their household. This includes the employees’ partner or spouse, children and any dependents as well as anyone that lives with the employee as part of their family. As EAP members, employees and their household may use the EAP to help manage issues in their personal lives. Our EAP provides up to 6 sessions of counselling per member per issue per year. If more counselling is needed, the members’ counsellor will refer the them to another service where they can get ongoing support.
